G(ood)oS on my eeePc
ok, after I enjoyed the whole week-end working on it, I can confirm that Gos is perfectly working on my EEEpc in such a wy that I really think Iĺl keep it.
first of all, all started with xandros.
I a mac user, which mean I like simplicity. Xandros is good but i not 6. plus it somehow looks like win-xp and I poke my opinion out a couple of times trying to edit it...
then, I finally bought an external drive for £30....
my first choice went with xubuntu, but I got fed up with the fact that I could make compiz working properly....
I started looking for alternatives os that where good looking and easy on my eeepc...
I was looking for compiz stuff on youtube and I found GOS
after I did the live dvd, it toke me tree installation before it was working right.
then the next step was to personalize it and make it working with the eee features...
I must say that the eeepc comunity helped a lot, but much more did the ubuntu comunty.
th thing is that if you follow only one how to, you will never figure out how you get stuck to that problem...
well, now my camera is working,, the wi-fi is doing great, and the power management is just cool!
one problem at the time and it was done before i knew it.
I like to astonish my friends showing them the mac-expose effect or the rubbber window thing on my small eeepc.
in conclusion, so far so good. I still working on the sound fn-keys but Iĺl figure this out later...
thatś it folks ¯
